Bare rocks and snow on the mountains are coloured red
Open fields light-blue, rivers dark-blue and jungle and forest green
The cyan coloured route follows the west side of the Nam Lang River
and crosses the Namru pass on the other side
The map is based on the NASA Landsat 7 (circa year 2000) MrSID N-47-25 Satellite image
On the northern hemisphere the sun shines on the southern mountain slopes
To show the mountains on the map in the right perspective the direction of the light
has to come from the top of the map to show a proper visual three dimensional illusion
This is the reason why the orientation of the map is upside down
The small picture above shows a little part of the map in the normal north-south orientation
The route over the ridge to the summit does not look like a ridge at all
